Knowing the strict policy of Facebook and Google+ over porn and nudity issues, it was only logical that a lot of Tumblr users wandering about Yahoo’s policy on the matter. Marissa Mayer was asked on the matter during yesterday’s event and she replied that there will be no Yahoo intervention on Tumblr concerning this subject! Meaning in other words that porn and nudity on Tumblr is… for the time being, safe!
“It’s the nature of the content that’s being uploaded by users” she added. However Yahoo! will improve its NSFW (not safe for work) tools, which is vital for all Tumblr users.
Mayer’s reply is considered to be part of her promise that “Yahoo! will not mess it up”, especially if you consider the huge numbers of users leaving Facebook for Tumblr at this time! After all nudity and porn is just a part of our lives, even though Facebook refuses to do so, – while promoting apps like “Bang with Friends”.
