The Aegis Of The Academy

Inspired by Gérard Way’s graphic novels, The Umbrella Academy is the new superhero series created by Steve Blackman (writer of Season 3 of Fargo).

The pitch: on the same day of 1989, forty-three babies are inexplicably born to women who were not pregnant. Seven of these children were adopted by a billionaire industrialist who created The Umbrella Academy to prepare them to save the world. The plan is not going as planned. As teenagers, the adopted are dispersed. Now in their thirties, the six still alive are reunited on the occasion of the death of the one who adopted them. Five of them are trying to understand the mystery surrounding his disappearance. But together, the family separates again while the Apocalypse threatens…

Vernon Subutex

Cathy Verney and Benjamin Dupas adapted the literary work of Virginie Despentes. At the crossroads of thriller and psychological drama, the series promises an exploration of the Paris underground, the unconventional and acid.

The pitch: as in the eponymous novels, the plot is centered on the character of Vernon Subutex, unemployed record player, who gets expelled from his apartment. In search of a place to sleep, Vernon solicits old friends of the Revolver band, his mythical record store, including Alex Bleach, rock-star on the return. But he died of an overdose and left him with three sets of videotapes. While Vernon disappears into the anonymity of the city, he becomes the most wanted man in Paris…

I am the Night

The pitch: the mini-series by Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) follows the investigation conducted in 1949 by a young woman abandoned at birth to know her origins. In her quest for identity, she comes across a gynecologist involved in the famous case of the Black Dahlia.

The pitch: produced by Seth Rogen, David Caspe and Evan Goldberg, Black Monday comes back with humor to the stock market crash that occurred on Wall Street on October 19, 1987.

Watchman

The pitch: Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen series is the new adaptation of the cult comic by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, already at the origin of the film Watchmen – The Guardians Of Zack Snyder.

With whom? Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Tim Blake Nelson, Adelaide Clemens, Don Johnson.
