Universal Pictures recently released the first trailer for the next war-drama movie starring Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter, Ted). The story takes place in June 2005, where Marcus Luttrell (Wahlberg) together with a group of soldiers (SEAL team 10), will travel to a secret mission at the borders between Pakistan and Afghanistan, to capture or kill the leader of the Taliban, Ahmad Shah. But things will change….
The film is based on real events and a book titled “Lone Survivor: The eyewitness account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL team 10 “, written by a survivor of the mission, Luttrell. The screenwriter and the director of the production is Peter Berg, who has experience in war films having worked in “Kingdom” and “Friday Night Lights”, but also the very good “Battleship”. Also, the film is expected to get several nominations for Oscar Awards, for this reason it will have limited circulation on December 27, to catch up with the Oscar Awards, while the normal release is expected on January 10. Together with Wahlberg, Ben Foster, Taylor Kitsch, Eric Bana and Emile Hirsch are also starring.
