According to a report by NPD Group (presented by Techspot) Amazon is cheaper than iTunes in 78% of the cases. This is quite remarkable if you consider that almost 63% of the digital music sales are being made through iTunes!
During a 4 weeks period of time, Techspot checked the prices in Amazon, iTunes and Google Play for the top 20 singles and albums and found out that Amazon was cheaper in 78% of the cases! For the top Billboard albums Amazon’s prices where better than others in 84% of the cases. The average price of an Album in Amazon was 1.08$ cheaper than in iTunes and in Google Play it was 0.5$ cheaper.
